Award Success

In 2016, Vision for a Nation was shortlisted for five coveted charity sector awards - winning two.

Civil Society Charity Awards

Vision for a Nation was awarded Top Prize in the “International Aid and Development” category by the Charity Awards – the United Kingdom charity sector’s most prestigious and longest-running awards programme.

Vision for a Nation proved “demonstrated achievement” in all ten “Hallmarks of Excellence” – including leadership, innovation, effectiveness and sustainability.

Charity Awards Judge Su Sayer, Chair of the Campaign to Protect Rural England, said: “This is a win for the charity, a win for the Rwandan government, a win for everybody – a real no-brainer.”

Third Sector Excellence Awards

Vision for a Nation CEO Tom Rosewall won top prize in the “Rising Chief Executive” category at the 2016 Third Sector Excellence awards ceremony.

The prize is awarded to the chief executive who has made “outstanding contributions to his or her organisation, or the wider sector, during their first two years in post”. Now in their 12th year, Britain’s Third Sector Excellence Awards recognise those who give back to the community and celebrate organisations and social leaders from across the sector.

Tom’s achievement of this significant award was based upon his galvanising leadership role in building the measurable success of VFAN’s ground-breaking nationwide programme in Rwanda.
